We’re always glad to hear from anyone interested in joining us. We particularly welcome young players and support them in developing their talents while playing a wide range of music of all periods and styles.
Rehearsals take place during the school term on Friday evenings at 7.40pm at St John’s Methodist Church Hall, just off Church Street, Settle (see below).
We usually give two performances of the same programme each term: one in Settle and one in Skipton. The concert programme for this season can be found here.
If you play an orchestral instrument to at least Grade 6-7 (Grade 5 for strings) standard and would like to find out more about playing in the Orchestra, please contact us.
Settle Orchestra Keeps the Dales Alive with Music
We’re delighted to share this wonderful feature from Chimeo, celebrating Settle Orchestra’s role in bringing live classical music to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The article from August 2025 highlights our commitment to community, creativity, and connection — from welcoming musicians of all ages and abilities, to performing vibrant programmes that inspire audiences across the region. It’s a lovely reflection of how local passion and collaboration continue to keep music flourishing in the Dales.
If you play an instrument and would like to be part of our musical community, we’d love to hear from you — come and join us!
