Next concert – Summer 2025

Posted on

After two hugely successful performances of our Spring programme in March, we are looking forward to our Summer concerts. We’ll be playing:

Concert programme with an image of a French horn overlaying a seascape with a rainbow

  • Mendelssohn’s overture Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, in which the sombre mood of sailors becalmed at sea gives way to excitement as the breeze picks up and the sails fill
  • Weber’s breathtaking Concertino, for which Ewan Hudson, a regular member of our horn section and one of the younger players in the Orchestra, will be the soloist
  • Schubert’s Symphony No.3, ensuring that we keep up the momentum!

Harry Lai: Conductor
Anne Heaton: Leader

Thanks to a generous legacy from a former member of the orchestra – Dorothy Wrathall, who played the violin with us for many years – admission to these two concerts will be FREE! Donations will be welcome, and these will be split between the Orchestra and Jessie’s Fund: jessiesfund.org.uk

This is a charity established in 1995 in York to help children with serious illness, complex needs, and communication difficulties through the therapeutic use of music.

Given the success of our previous concerts, we recommend that you book your tickets in advance to make sure that you have a seat. They’ll be available from:

  • Forage & Feast in Settle
  • Orchestra members
  • Using the links below

They’ll also be available on the door, subject to availability after advance bookings. Tickets booked in advance will be held up until 15 minutes before the performances start at 15:30 and then released for general admission.

We look forward to seeing you!
